One-touch Reporting Saves Time & Effort

Jurisdictions enjoy many advantages from upgrading an outdated, antiquated voter registration system to a modern, secure platform. These may include cutting-edge security, state-of-the-art GIS capabilities, meticulous audit logging, and time-saving task automation.

But a less glamorous—and thus often overlooked—feature offered by a modern VRS is the ease in which administrators can run reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Currently, administrators using old systems have to cobble data together from multiple sources, which can make reporting not only time-consuming, but susceptible to human error.

What is EAVS?
The report includes highly-detailed election and voter statistics. The end goal is to use this information to improve the way America votes. (Learn more)

One such example where a robust reporting feature could save time and human resources is in gathering data for the biennial Election Administration and Voting Survey (EAVS), a critical undertaking by the Election Administration Committee (EAC) to synthesize data provided by each state. This data is invaluable in revealing trends in federal elections, and is used to improve both the voter and election administrator experience.

Not surprisingly, a report of this magnitude and importance requires filling out a very in-depth questionnaire. However, for many states and counties compiling all this information can be a laborious, time consuming effort, with possibly dozens of employees contributing information over several months.

EAVS Reporting doesn't have to be so hard (Click image to Enlarge).

Common roadblocks reported by county officials include issues such as specific data needing to be extracted in a number of different ways and then manually pieced together to fully satisfy questions, or the data requested not having been recorded in the VR system, either not at all or not for the requested time period.

Once data is finally collected and consolidated from multiple locations, the information still needs to be entered into the EAVS worksheet and double-checked for accuracy.

eLect VRS automates acquiring, managing, processing, and presenting data from required sources, virtually eliminating this onerous process. The ability to merge state-specific forms into required data fields in the EAVS worksheet format is executed with just a few clicks of the mouse. No manual addition, no accidentally omitting a data set, no room for error, and since the data is constantly updated, there is no concern that information has become inaccurate. The reports are now generated in seconds, saving precious hours of work, reducing chances of human error, and preserving the integrity of the data so crucial to the EAC’s efforts.

If eLect VRS can make a kitten out of a lion of a report like EAVS, imagine how easy day-to-day report generation could be!
